Listen to memories

We will record the stories of people whose childhoods were spent exploring rural East Cleveland in the middle of the last century. Collectively the stories tell of the free roaming outdoor childhoods many experienced but has, in just one or two generations, largely come to an end. Childhoods free to explore woods, moors and coast, strongly connected to nature when all was required was a simple jam sandwich (for the lucky) and enough hours in the day.

Here you can listen to samples from the recordings.
